What makes us unique

In a world of mass production, we choose to do things differently.

Every piece at The House of Lili begins with an original design, created in-house and brought to life by skilled artisans in India using traditional techniques such as bone and mother of pearl inlay, hand block printing, screen printing and hand embossing. We don’t buy from catalogues or simply follow trends. Instead, we create distinctive collections designed to bring personality, warmth and character to your home.

Many of the crafts we work with are remarkably labour intensive. A single inlay piece can require hundreds of individually shaped pieces to be hand-cut and placed one by one, while our textiles are printed by hand using carved wooden blocks and hand-mixed dyes. These techniques cannot be rushed, which is why no two pieces are ever exactly alike.

But beautiful design is only part of the story. We believe products should be designed to withstand the realities of everyday living too. Having spent a decade living in Singapore, we became increasingly aware of how humidity can affect furniture and homewares over time. While many inlay products on the market are constructed using MDF, which can be susceptible to swelling, warping and mould, we have chosen to use solid, moisture-resistant woods in many of our collections. The result is a product that not only feels more substantial and luxurious, but is built to last in tropical environments.

Our furniture collection takes this philosophy even further. Rather than asking you to adapt to standard sizes and finishes, we offer the freedom to customise dimensions, colours and designs, creating pieces tailored specifically to your home and lifestyle.

Designed in Singapore and New Zealand, and handcrafted in India, our collections blend traditional craftsmanship with thoughtful innovation and a fresh, contemporary aesthetic. The result is a collection of timeless pieces that feel personal, distinctive and made to be enjoyed for years to come.
